13th Annual Kids Safety Summer Festival



The Kidz Safety Summer Festival is taking place on

Sunday, June 24th, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

at the Roberta Bondar Park and Pavilion.


The Kidz Summer Safety Festival is a family-oriented event designed to educate children on various safety and injury prevention topics geared toward summer activities. The event teaches kids about proactive safety strategies for all aspects of summer through educational displays that include safe camping and fire practices, electrical hazard awareness and injury prevention, water safety and the importance of bicycle and helmet safety. Organizations throughout the City are invited to set-up displays, sharing their expertise and offering unique safety messages including Algoma Public Health, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, John Rhodes Community Centre Pool, Fire Services, Electrical Safety Authority, the YMCA, Sault Search and Rescue, the Ministry of Natural Resources and others. Further, free activities are offered at the event to attendees including an inflatable park, a fire truck display, a bus display, rides on Obie the Train, bicycle registration, face painting and a children’s entertainer.  There will be a Car Seat Clinic on site.  Free bikes and door prizes to be won!!

Last year’s event saw over 700 attendees, with children and families communicating their appreciation for the opportunity to enjoy a fun day of free, educational activities.
