Seniors Rights Protection Council

The Seniors’ Rights Protection Council is committed to helping create and support a community free from abuse, neglect and exploitation of older adults. The council’s goal is to reduce the abuse of older adults in Sault Ste. Marie and area through education and public awareness.

Objectives:

1.  Increase public awareness, understanding and the implications of elder abuse

2.  To educate the community on how to identify and respond to abuse of the older adult

3.  To inform older adults of their rights and how to protect themselves from abuse

4.  To promote positive public attitudes and views on aging

5.  To promote positive intergenerational connections

6.  To advocate for senior rights
